I’m Heather and I’ve been a Child Passenger Safety Technician since April 2001 and a certified CPST Instructor since October 2006. I created CarSeatSite.com before I was a tech, when I was a parent looking for the “best” carseat for my first baby. This was before Google and before information was widely available online. Both of my kids are driving and off to college now so I have a new set of child passenger worries, but because child passenger safety technology changes so quickly, I find it fascinating and I love working with both parents and children.
I’m one of the founding members of CarseatBlog.com as well as Car-Seat.org. I was the president of my local Safe Kids coalition for many years, serve on my state’s CPS occupant protection task force, and am co-owner of a company that specializes in carseat education. I love training new techs to help caregivers keep their kids safe in vehicles. My goal is teaching and empowering parents to use their carseats . . . and keeping kids safe one ride at a time.
