I’m Heather and I’ve been a Child Passenger Safety Technician since April 2001 and a certified CPST Instructor since October 2006. I created CarSeatSite.com before I was a tech, when I was a parent looking for the “best” carseat for my first baby. This was before Google and before information was widely available online. Both of my kids are driving and post-college now so I have a new set of child passenger worries, but because child passenger safety technology changes so quickly, I find it fascinating and I love working with both parents and children.
I’m one of the founding members of CarseatBlog.com as well as Car-Seat.org. I was the president of my local Safe Kids coalition for many years, serve on my state’s CPS occupant protection task force, and am co-owner of a company that specializes in carseat education. I love training new techs to help caregivers keep their kids safe in vehicles. My goal is teaching and empowering parents to use their carseats . . . and keeping kids safe one ride at a time.
