A lockoff is a built-in feature that locks your seat belt for you. When a lockoff is present, you will not need to engage the locking mechanism of the seat belt.
A belt tensioner tightens the seat belt for you with little effort; it uses leverage to make the job easier. It presses the belt into a channel(s) to shorten it mechanically and create the tension.
A load leg rests on the floor of the vehicle and manages crash energy to reduce head injury in rear-facing carseats. It’s available on 2 convertible models. Not all vehicles allow load legs.
An anti-rebound bar (ARB) is an energy management feature that helps stabilize a rear-facing carseat and stops it from pivoting around its belt path. ARBs can be found on rear-facing only infant seats and on convertible/all-in-one seats.

The One4Life/One4Life Slim is incompatible with vehicles that have head rests that protrude forward. If you can remove them, you will need to do so before installing this seat forward-facing. While this carseat is a narrow carseat, it’s boxy shape means that it may not work well in a 3-across setting in a very small back seat.

Cup holders are optional and removable. If you remove them, the cup holder caps must be put in their place. If you have a model with an anti-rebound bar or you purchase an anti-rebound bar, it is used rear-facing only and must be removed when the carseat is used forward-facing.
Starting in 2025, Britax added a “positioning layer” to help the One4Life Slim comply with new safety standards. This layer is sewn on, sits under the lower infant insert, and is used until 40 lbs. rear-facing and forward-facing. After the child reaches 40 lbs., it may be folded up behind the child’s back. When in the down position, it significantly shortens the buckle strap. Some kids notice this and some don’t. It’s always a good idea to try your child in the seat before buying if you can or buy from a store with a good return policy (e.g., allows open box returns).
